>ChaPter 6<
In chapter 6 we learn a variety of information and how to incorporate intow our everyday lesson plans as a teacher. The ASSURE method is a wonderful way to structure technology into your lesson plans. It makes you ask questions that are very helpful to you. For instance, like who are you teaching? or what are you going to teach? or do the lessons meet each of our curriculum goals? I find this very helpful. I will ask myself when I go to write a lesson plan in the future these simple questions, so that I might make a better lesson plan, than if I didn't ask my self these very important structuralization questions. Incorporating technology into your lessons might not always necissarliy be easy. You have to think of how big your class is, and if you can get enough computers to satisfy your lessons. Another thing that you have to think of is your students. Do they have acess to computers outside of school? Can they afford a computer? As a teacher, you have to be aware of these things, especially in the world that we live in today. We also need to be aware of how are students are learning. If the are assertive learners, authentic learners, or active learning, these are all important things when planning lessons.
Since the last class, I have learned about WIKI's and power points. Wiki's will be useful while kids are out of class, so that we can have online discussions. This will allow the child to kind of catch up on the lecture for the day if they missed. Powerpoints are great to convey lecture notes. You can make them funny, serious, and put all kinds of different media into them to make a lecture day much more fun!
In the future all these skills we have been developing are going to come in handy for my teaching days! I can't wait to get into the classroom and try them out!

ChapTer 5
In chapter 5, many things are discussed about our new "digital age" and how we plan to use these new innovations. One area I found interesting was the digital media applications. I am very fond of this idea because as a future educator, I am going to have to find creative ways to help my students learn to the best of their abilities. You can create power point slides with animation in them, with sounds to help describle something, and pictures to show what you are talking about. This will help intrigue the students minds and help them to pay attention longer. Another area I really liked is the CBT. This is computer based training. When I was observing a teacher's class at Riley Elementary school, we went into a computer lab and the children worked with educational interactive software. I feel that this helped the students learn in a less traditional way and more in a modern way. They are also not just learning about their lessons, but it helps them deal with modern technology that some of them might not have at home.
Since the last class, I have learned how to make wikis and web pages. This will be very helpful to me in the future because with the way technology is progressing, schools will pretty soon be all digitalized. Then I will be able to put the students lessons on-line so that incase some one might lose thier assignment book, they will be able to have access to their homework problems. With the wikis we will be able to have interactive class disscussions, so that if a child misses class, they will no what went on that day in lecture.
Technology can be fun, but I am sure not a technological girl! These past two weeks have been extra hard! I am glad I learned how to do this stuff, but I sure hope it gets easier in the future! :)

Chapter dOs
In chapter 2 we are learning about the World Wide Web. How it came about, what makes it work, about proper manners when chatting, and many other different things. All websites have different URLs on them which is like our equivalent to mailing something by the UPS guys. I also finally learned the differences between analog and digital services FINALLY! Analog was originally designed for carrying voices, and now we have the new and improved digital technology which has little impulses being sent through our computers. I also learned that you can network computers together and this way it can make it easier on the teachers to share tests, worksheets, and other useful information. I also learned the history of the Internet and let me tell you I am super glad that we got away from dial ups!
Since the last class, I have just been puttering around the Internet more. I learned that Google has different "little search engines" that you can search for more specific things rather than all over the web. I found a bunch of neat new websites that I didn't know existed! I hope that these will be able to help me in my classroom in the future!
I hope that technology only gets better in the future so that way we can share knowledge world wide (more than we do now) to help further our students educational experiences!
